Usuki Yaki Institute

Usuki ware is a mysterious pottery that started as a kiln for the Usuki clan in the late Edo period, about 200 years ago. The USUKIYAKI Research Institute is continuing efforts to make a modern version of Usuki ware based on the few remaining materials in order to revive Usuki ware again.

Based on the idea that "vessels are the frame of food," the natural shapes and natural ingredients in this place are made from the rich seas and mountains of Usuki, organic produce, and from ancient times. The traditional food culture backed by flourishing miso, soy sauce, liquor and other brewed products is complemented beautifully, and the culture is conveyed to other places where the nature and designs of the area are baked. It is aimed to add color to the dining table.
